Gardner Sherrill is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ with 20 years of experience in advising families , independent women, and entrepreneurs who are near or in retirement. Gardner believes whole-heartedly that by providing individual financial guidance he enables his clients to live a more balanced and rewarding life.

During his career as a Wealth Manager and team leader at some of the most admired Brokerage Firms and Trust Banks, Gardner recognized that the Financial Advisory Industry was at a cross-road. Gardner started Sherrill Wealth Management in 2012 because he saw the undeniable need for clients to be better heard and understood.

As an independent financial advisor he is better able to provide financial guidance through more personalized services and unbiased advice.

Understanding the complexities of today’s investment options and the ability to cut through the “noise “ in today’s over–abundance of information, Gardner is committed to helping individuals pursue their goals by offering valuable financial solutions tailored toward their personal situation.

Born In Atlanta, Georgia, Gardner received his Bachelors of Arts from Rollins College and his Master of Business from the University of Denver. Following in his father’s footsteps, Gardner began his career in Wealth Management at the very bank his father worked at as a private banker for over 35 years. Gardner lives with his wife, Danielle a native of Bradenton, and their 2 young sons. In his free time, Gardner enjoys his involvement with several local foundations, reading, riding his bike, and going on family adventures.

Daniel Wood


Born in West Palm Beach, Fla., Danny received his Bachelor of Science from Florida State University. He began his financial services career in life insurance, investments, and consumer finance. He served as a statewide branch manager trainer for American General Finance in Colorado, then served Manatee County for over a decade as one of the top mortgage brokerage business owners. In 2010 Danny narrowed his focus to retirement income planning and opened Wood Investment Management in 2014.

Wood has numerous community involvements, serving as a board member for Youth for Christ and Servants of Christ Hands and Feet Ministry.

He and his wife, Jenan, have three children. In his spare time, he enjoys sailing, powerboating, and all things related to the water. His favorite vacations have been sailing to the Abaco Islands, diving for lobster in the Keys, and skiing in the Rockies.

Brenda Mains

Client Service Coordinator​

Brenda Mains is the Client Services Coordinator for Sherrill Wealth Management. In her role, Brenda is deeply committed to ensuring that all clients receive the highest standards of service.

Prior to working at Sherrill Wealth Management, Brenda taught for over 30 years with the majority of that time spent in international schools around the world. Brenda most recently worked as a Head Teacher and Office Manager for a well-known tutoring company.

Brenda received her Bachelor of Arts in Education and English from Trevecca University and has held a Teaching Certification from the State of Florida since 1973.

Brenda’s attention to detail, thoughtfulness and friendly personality make her an integral member of the Sherrill Wealth Management Team.

In her free time, Brenda enjoys the beach, spending time with her son and daughter-in-law (and her granddogs), cooking, and being entertained by her English bulldog, Bubbawalla.

Steve Popp, MBA

Investment Committee​

Steven Popp is the Principal and Managing Partner of Guardient Global Capital.

Mr. Popp began his career in 1996 as a junior bond trader at Citibank and joined the foreign exchange option trading group in 1997. In 1999, he was named Vice President, Co-Head of worldwide Japanese Yen option trading. From 2002 to 2005, Mr. Popp was a Director at Barclays Capital and head of foreign exchange trading in New York. In 2006, Mr. Popp established the New York-based G7 and Latin American foreign exchange option trading desk for Santander Investment Securities.

Since 2008, Mr. Popp has managed his personal capital. He developed and employs a proprietary trading and investing methodology based upon technical analysis that is applicable across multiple asset classes, namely foreign exchange, commodities, equities, and fixed income. Mr. Popp received his Bachelor of Arts from the University of California, Los Angeles and Master of Business Administration from the Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania.
